What Are Agents?

An agent is an AI-powered assistant that can call leads, answer incoming queries, schedule appointments, send follow-ups, and manage entire conversations on your behalf. Each agent operates independently and can be tailored to a specific role within your business.

Agents combine several components to function:

  • System prompt -- defines the agent's personality, rules, and knowledge
  • AI model -- powers the agent's understanding and responses
  • Voice -- determines how the agent sounds on calls

Agent Types

How Agents Work

When a conversation starts, the agent follows this process:

  3. Generates a response -- the model produces a reply based on its instructions and the current conversation
