Are call recordings free and unlimited, or do they cost extra?

Recordings are not free. Recording a phone call costs almost a penny per minute, and recordings are kept in the built-in storage system, the same as videos and images. You can see the full breakdown of each service's price under Settings, then Billing, then the Usage tab.
