Can I add my own links or embed another app or tool in my clients' sidebar menu?

Yes. You can add custom menu links to the sidebar (navigation bar). A custom link can embed another website or web app inside the platform, so it looks and feels like part of your system and clients never leave, or it can open in a new tab.

1. Go to Settings, then SaaS Configurator, then Sidebar.
2. Click Add custom menu link.
3. Enter the web address and choose whether to embed it in the app or open it in a new tab.
4. Click Done, then change the text (for example Lead finding tool) and the icon if you want.
5. Rearrange it among the other menu items like any item, and click Apply.

The link then appears in the app as its own page.

Good uses are another software platform you use, a service you bundle, or a tool everyone in your clients' industry opens all the time, such as an MLS for real estate agents, a directory a home services company always uses, a quote tool for an HVAC company, a weather tracker, or a loan application site for a business funding company. You can also offer your own custom tool, such as a custom agent app or a web app you built with the AI assistant, using the app's URL. Clients feel they can do everything in one place without opening many browser tabs, and keeping their tools and data in one place makes your platform sticky.

Because you can save different sidebars and assign them to different plans, you can show a link only to customers on a specific plan, for example an industry plan with its own special links.

Menu icons come from the Lucide icon library, which has over a thousand icons you can search by word, including several bot style icons for an AI item. You cannot upload your own logo as a menu icon.

A custom app can work with a sub-account's data through the Votel API. Generate an API key in the platform and use it to read or create things in that sub-account. The full API documentation is at docs.votel.ai.
