Applies to: Moving a site, app or domain that is live on another platform

Can I move a live website or app to Votel without downtime?

Yes. Your site keeps running where it is until you change your DNS, so there is no downtime.

  1. Build or import the site in Votel first (create a website project and use Import from URL, or have the AI assistant build it). It runs on a temporary preview address on our CDN domain, and your existing site stays up. Give a large import time to process.
  2. Check and test the new site. You have time to use and compare both systems before the switch.
  3. When you are ready, open the website, go to the Domains tab, add your domain and follow the DNS instructions shown.

For an app, our team can move it for you: we make an exact copy, pulling the data out of the other platform (for example GoHighLevel) and setting up the apps and AI Studio projects in Votel, and we change the DNS after business hours, late at night. If your app uses an outside database such as Supabase, you keep that database and only the front end moves.

Votel does not sell domains. Keep your domain where it is registered (for example Cloudflare) and point it to Votel.

If you already have clients using your existing brand and domain, you do not need to change it. For your Votel login domain, if app.yourdomain.com is already in use elsewhere, pick a different one such as login.yourdomain.com. Both systems can then run side by side until you tell people to log in on the new system. If you do not have clients yet, you can simply move the domain over.
