Can the AI assistant build custom apps with a login, database and custom code?
Yes. Besides websites and funnels, Votel has a built-in app builder in the AI assistant, similar to tools like Lovable, for full stack web apps with their own custom code, custom database and back end. You do not need to be a developer, and you do not have to wire the pieces together because one AI builds everything.
- Open the Web Apps menu and click plus, or ask the AI assistant to create an app.
- Describe what you want. A short prompt works, but more detail gets you what you want. You can also give it source code, a download link or a screenshot of an existing app and ask it to recreate it.
- The assistant shows you each step it takes. Turn on auto approve if you do not want it to ask you at each step.
The assistant has its own computer with a built-in IDE and terminal access, so it can install and run whatever it needs and build in pretty much any language or framework. It builds with React by default, and you can ask for others such as Vue or Java. You can choose the server size the code runs on, such as one, two or eight CPUs.
Every app gets its own web address and can be published on your own domain. An app can have authentication, a login page and a members area, or be public with no login. You can change it any time, and you can have as many apps as you want ($9 a month each). You can also embed an app inside Votel with a custom menu link in the sidebar, so it opens like a built-in page.
Apps are for custom things Votel does not already have, such as a business directory, a routing or calculator tool, a client portal, a small back end for managing your reps, or a niche CRM you use yourself and sell. Standard needs like CRM, calendar and phone are already built in. A web app does not feed an AI agent by itself; to connect it, use the agent's API lookup step (the lookup has no cost, and each workflow run costs one tenth of a penny). An app can also call a Votel workflow, so Votel works as the back end for contacts, messaging, workflows and ads.
These are web apps that open in a browser. They are not native iPhone or Android store apps, because native iOS apps have to be previewed on an iOS device.
