Do unused wallet credits and included usage in my SaaS plans roll over?
It depends on how you set up the plan in the SaaS configurator.
Recurring credit: in a SaaS plan you can add a recurring credit in dollars, which works for any service (AI videos, phone numbers, AI assistant credits and more). When you add it there is a rollover option. If rollover is checked, unused credit keeps growing every month, which some agencies like because it can help retention. If it is not checked, the recurring credit resets every month.
One-time credit: a starting credit that is not recurring is not renewed. It is spent as it is used.
Included quantities: you can set an included quantity for a service, for example 1,000 emails, SMS or phone minutes, and bill anything over it as overage at the price you set. Included quantities, such as contacts, do not roll over. They are a limit, not a balance: a 1,000 contact limit stays 1,000 each month. You can also set a service-specific amount, such as monthly AI assistant credits, which applies only to that service. You do not have to include any quantity.
Votel recommends a common approach: give a one-time starting credit, for example a dollar or two or $25, so a new account does not show a big no-money warning, then use usage-based pricing after that. If you do the work for the client, bundle usage in the plan, because you know the cost. For a low-priced do-it-yourself plan, bundle little and keep it usage based. At much higher price points, clients may object to separate small charges.
