Applies to: Anyone moving texting numbers from another provider, including GoHighLevel

Does my A2P 10DLC texting approval transfer when I move my numbers to Votel?

No. An A2P or 10DLC approval from GoHighLevel, Twilio or a similar provider cannot be ported or transferred the way a phone number can, so you register again in Votel. Votel runs its own phone platform and does not use Twilio.

You can reference your previous approval to help. If you used a provider such as Twilio, you have a TCR ID or campaign ID, a five or six character alphanumeric code. Enter it in your Votel plan application and say you were already approved on the same website, so the team can reference your existing approved campaign. Because you have been approved once and your website is already compliant, the approval in Votel is usually quicker and easier.

To avoid any downtime in texting when you are already sending SMS:

  1. Register for 10DLC in Votel first (Settings, then Phone, then the SMS / 10DLC tab).
  2. Wait until it is approved, which usually takes a couple of days.
  3. Then port your numbers in under Settings, then Phone, then Transfer numbers. When they arrive they are already approved to text.

If you are not sending SMS yet, you can port the numbers in first and apply afterward.

The approval is not linked to a phone number. It is linked to your use case, and one approval can be used for up to 49 phone numbers.

If you are leaving GoHighLevel, our GoHighLevel export browser extension exports your account data, including forms, custom fields and other items, and it also copies your A2P (10DLC) plan and campaign application values over, so the application loads in Votel prefilled and ready to submit. The link to the extension is in the pinned post at the top of our community.

If you are moving numbers from FlowTrack, we move them for you and you keep everything.
