Does Votel have an API, and where is the API documentation?

Yes. Votel has a full, open API: everything you can do inside Votel has an API, with more than 2,000 APIs documented with examples.

The documentation is at docs.votel.ai. Click API at the top. For example, for messaging look under Conversations, then Messaging. Messaging works on every channel through the API, including two-way SMS.

Create your API key in Votel under Settings, then API / MCP.

With the API you can create leads, sync contacts and post data from your own app into Votel. Contacts created in your own app are not synced automatically, so your app has to post them through the API. You can also tell the AI assistant "I need to post the lead to Votel, here is the API doc" and it builds that connection for you.

If you want an AI agent or AI tool to work with Votel, use our MCP server instead (Settings, then API / MCP). The API is not built for AI agents.
