Does Votel have its own video meeting platform, and how do I start a meeting?

Yes. Votel has its own built-in meeting platform, an all in one Zoom replacement. It works in the browser on any laptop, desktop, iPad or phone with an internet connection, and clients only need the link, no software. It is the same platform used for Votel's onboarding sessions, the 5 Day Challenge and the Live support button.

To start a meeting:

  1. Click Calendars in the left menu, then the Meeting Rooms tab.
  2. Start an instant meeting, which gets a random meeting code and link (good for ad hoc meetings), or schedule a meeting.
  3. Or create a room, which is a fixed link that never changes, such as yourdomain/meet/yourname.

Booking widgets (bookables) create meeting links automatically and include them in the invites.

Meetings can record audio and video, and the platform can record separate video for each participant in higher quality (1080p). During the meeting you get a transcript, and the transcript and AI summary are saved on the contact's activity, so the contact's AI summary picks them up and you do not need a separate notetaker that syncs with your CRM. You can share a link in the meeting chat, but you cannot send an attachment there. The mute button is at the bottom next to the camera and microphone controls; if audio is not working, refresh the page and try again. Live support uses the same meetings, with screen sharing and remote control. You can also run webinar style sessions, and use group appointments to book people into a meeting.

Meetings are available on the $97 Professional plan as well as the white label plan. When you white label Votel, you get your own white labeled meeting platform, and clients meet on your domain (the app domain you set in the SaaS Configurator).

Meetings are usage based: about nine tenths of a cent a minute for the meeting room, with recording (audio or video) and transcription charged separately. See all rates under Settings, Billing, Usage. For very large group meetings a flat rate tool like Zoom may cost less, but the built-in option gives you your own meeting platform on your own domain.
