Does Votel have task and project management, and can it replace a tool like ClickUp?

Yes. Votel has a full task and project management system built in. We use it ourselves for everything, including development, marketing, social media, customer service and support, and you can use it for client work and for your own team.

Projects: you can create multiple projects, and every task belongs to a project (there is a project called Default). A good approach is to use projects like departments, for example an onboarding team and a development team. Tasks are the things you need to do, while the pipeline shows the state of the customer.

Each project can have its own custom statuses (for software development you might add Passed Testing and Failed Testing), its own task types (for example Feature and Bug for software, or Call and Email for a to-do list), custom fields, required fields and default values for new tasks. Tasks support subtasks, multiple assignees, attachments, and screen or audio recordings.

Templates: save task templates for work you repeat, such as an onboarding task with its subtasks (welcome call and so on). When you create a task, choose the option to use a template and it loads all the subtasks and defaults.

Views: create custom saved views of tasks (filter, sort, group by priority or assignee, choose columns). To show a view as a board, right click the view, choose Edit view, switch it to Board, and customize the card.

Call window: for sales tasks there is a call window filter that only shows contacts who are inside business hours in their own time zone, so you do not call someone in California at 6 AM.

Tasks and contacts work together. When a task is related to a contact, you can switch to the contact details to message the contact and come back to the task on the same page, and you can open a unified timeline that merges the task activity with the contact's activity, including what the contact said, call info, notes and transcripts. This helps when a client tells you on a call what they want, because you never have to leave the task. The AI assistant can also read a meeting transcript and create tasks from the action items.

Compared with ClickUp: ClickUp has workload tracking, burn down charts and some other dashboard types that Votel does not have. Votel has dashboards that can use tasks as a data source (for example open tasks over time). ClickUp also has a knowledge base style document area, which Votel does not have. For storing SOPs, the closest option is the Library and stored files, which is not a knowledge base format.
