How do I add my own custom service, like social media management or premium support, to a SaaS plan or add-on?
You can add your own services to any SaaS plan or add-on, so your managed services and offer are built into what the client buys. Any service you deliver yourself can be a custom service, for example social media management, premium support, database reactivation, website or funnel design, SEO, Google Business Profile optimization, a review package or lead generation. Social media management as a service you perform is different from access to the built-in social media calendar tool, so it needs its own custom service.
- Go to Settings, then SaaS Configurator, and open the plan or add-on.
- Open the Service usage and pricing tab and click Create custom service.
- Give the service a name (for example Premium support or Social media management) and a price.
- Enter how many of the service the plan includes and what the unit is.
- Turn the service on in each plan or add-on that includes it, and off where it does not, then save.
How you use the unit is up to you. Put 1 to mean the service is simply included, or use the number as a quantity, for example 5 to manage up to five social media accounts, or 5 support hours per month.
A service can be on or off per plan (the client has it or does not), or metered: give an included amount and a price for going over, for example 100 minutes of premium support included and then a set price per minute, or a usage price of a few cents a minute. Each service has three billing modes: Unlimited (no cap on use), deny overage (the client can only use up to the amount you include), or bill overage (an included quantity, which can be zero, then a price per unit above it). The AI assistant credit is also a service with its own included quantity that you set the same way.
For a flat monthly service you perform yourself, turn the custom service on as unlimited and set the monthly price on the plan's pricing tab rather than on the services tab.
A custom service can sit in your base plan or be sold separately. To sell it separately, keep it switched off in your main plan and create an add-on plan (for example Social media management) where that service is the only one switched on, with the built-in services left off. Once the add-on exists, when a customer asks for that service you simply add it to their account. If the add-on relates to a snapshot, link that snapshot to the add-on in the SaaS Configurator. When the customer buys the add-on, the snapshot is created in their account automatically.
To show customers what they get, such as $100 of credit, put it in the plan description. The description is shown on the self serve upgrade page and the billing page, and you can also add it to your own website.
