How do I bill clients per use of my own custom service, such as resumes screened?
Create a custom service in your SaaS plan and debit it from a workflow with the built-in usage-based billing.
- In the SaaS Configurator, edit the plan and create a service with your own name and unit, for example Resumes screened.
- Turn the service on in the plan and set the included amount (for example 100 per month) and the price per unit above that (for example $2.50 per extra resume).
- In the workflow that does the work, add the service usage based billing step and set it to debit the custom service, for example one unit each time a new resume arrives.
The step uses the service's pricing in the plan. It tracks every use against what the client's account includes, uses the included amount first, and bills the overage when the client goes over. The metering happens in the workflow billing step, not inside the agent.
You still need to build the thing that does the work, for example a custom app built with the AI assistant, sub agents, or a form that triggers a workflow, and decide how the client sends you files. Put the agents and workflows in a snapshot so each client gets them.
