How do I bill my clients for usage and mark up Votel's prices to make a margin?
Billing works in two layers: we bill you, and you bill your client. We do not interface directly with your client. With the white label plan you can rebill your clients and mark up every service.
In the SaaS Configurator, create a SaaS plan with a name and a price. You can offer a trial or no trial, charge with or without tax, and set a monthly fee, a setup fee and usage based charges.
The simplest markup is the 2x button on the plan's services page. You then charge two times what we charge, so you make a margin on every text message, phone call and AI chat. You can also mark up further, for example charging a client three credits for every one credit they use.
For finer control, set each service individually:
- Unlimited: no cap, and you do not charge the sub-account for it.
- Off: the service is not available on the plan.
- On, deny overage: the plan includes a fixed amount (for example 1,000 contacts) and the sub-account cannot go past it without upgrading to a higher plan.
- On, bill overage: include a quantity (or zero) and bill a price per unit above it. For contacts the overage price defaults to $0.01 per contact, for example 1,000 contacts included and a penny per contact above that.
The price of every service is listed under Settings, Billing, Usage, and you can mark each one up for your sub-accounts. AI usage can be marked up too: instead of 25 cents a credit you can set your own price per credit for sub-accounts. Votel does not charge the agency for contacts, so contacts are pure margin or a free inclusion for you.
Other models agencies use are bundles, for example a plan with 100 or 500 minutes a month of AI receptionist time, where a client who goes over moves up to the next plan. You can also add your own custom services, such as SEO, AEO or social media management.
