How do I limit and simplify what my clients see in their sub-account?
By default a sub-account has access to everything. You restrict it through the SaaS plan you create and the sidebar menu you give it.
Services: when you build a SaaS plan you can turn individual services on or off.
Sidebar (the easier way):
- Go to Settings, then SaaS Configurator, and customize the sidebar.
- Turn off every menu item the client does not need, even Settings, for example the AI Assistant or Tasks. You can keep only what you want them to see, such as Conversations and a Dashboard you have preloaded so they can see how many calls they got.
- Delete separators and links you do not need, reorder the items, and make the buttons big and simple if you like.
- To bring a page that normally sits deeper in the menu to the top level, such as Visitor ID inside Settings, add a custom link of the in-app section type, give it a name and an icon (for example a fingerprint) and place it where you want it.
- Save it as a new sidebar template with a name, for example HVAC Sidebar.
- Attach it to a plan: open the SaaS plan, go to the sub-account defaults, choose Sidebar and pick your template.
When someone orders that plan, this is the sidebar they see when they log in. You can save several sidebars, for example one per niche or package, and each plan uses its own. You can also add custom menu items that embed an external website, a tool or your own custom app.
This also lets you turn one service into a simple product, for example a plan whose sidebar shows only Contacts and Visitor ID.
Less is more. If clients are not using a feature, hide it, and you get fewer support questions. Many agencies give clients only one or two things, such as the Inbox and Contacts, or the Inbox and the Social Media Calendar. Tell clients the unified inbox collects messages from LinkedIn, Facebook, SMS, email and other channels in one place, so they only need to go in and check their messages.
