How do I mark up Votel's prices and charge my clients for their usage?
On the Founders Plan, which includes white label, SaaS mode and rebilling with markup, you resell Votel under your own prices. You pay your Votel plan price and charge your sub-accounts whatever monthly fee and usage rates you choose. You create your own plans (the packages you sell to clients, billed monthly) in the SaaS Configurator and decide which services each plan includes. You can create several options of the same package at different prices and make the cheaper one not visible, so only the most expensive one shows. Websites and hosting are unlimited, and most agencies include them in their plans.
We do not add margin on AI model usage: the price we pay is the price you pay. You decide your own margin. On the plan's services and usage page, use a markup button (1.5x, 2x or 3x) to update every service at once, or set the price of each service yourself, including the AI services. 2x is the recommended and most common choice: whatever we charge you, your client is charged twice that. For example, if we bill you 25 cents for a credit, your client pays 50 cents. 1x means no markup. You can also make usage free for a client.
How the money flows: each client has their own wallet. When your Stripe account is connected and a client funds their wallet, that money goes to you. When the client uses a service, the price you set is deducted from their balance, and our cost is deducted from your agency wallet with us at the same time, so all usage rolls up to your agency wallet. The difference is your margin. We bill you per unit and you bill your client per unit. When you fund your own wallet, that money goes to us. You can distribute credits between sub-accounts and give a client free credits whenever you choose.
AI assistant credits: in the plan, find the assistant credit service. The price you enter is the price per credit, and your own cost is shown at the bottom left of that screen. For example, 50 cents per credit with 100 credits included free gives the client $50 of included credits. In the plan's pricing you also choose whether AI assistant usage is billed to you or to the client. The more a client builds, the more it costs, so keep a margin on it if they build large apps. Overage and credit usage can be another revenue stream for your agency.
Give new accounts a small one-time credit when they sign up, for example $2 to $5, so they do not see the red no funds warning bar and get locked out.
To accept payment for your plans you must connect your Stripe account. Until Stripe is connected you can save a plan as a draft.
