How do I migrate my account from GoHighLevel to Votel?
Votel can replace GoHighLevel, and we have a migration tool that moves your data over. It has two parts: a Chrome extension (the GHL Backup and Export tool) that pulls your data out of GoHighLevel into a ZIP file, and the GoHighLevel import in Votel that unpacks that ZIP file into your account. There is no charge to migrate.
Where to get the extension: it is in the pinned post at the top of the Votel school community, called Export from GHL Chrome extension, with a short video of about two minutes that walks through every step. You are invited to the school community when you create your Votel account. You can also find the download link in Votel under Settings, then Integrations, then Other integrations, by searching for GoHighLevel.
- Install the Chrome extension. A Votel icon appears in your browser. If your Chrome is locked down, you can install it on another browser.
- Log in to the GoHighLevel account you want to move and click the extension icon. You can export any GoHighLevel account you can log in to, even if it is not your own agency.
- On the funnels and websites tab, click All or pick individual sites. On the account data tab, click All or select the items you want. If you only want your AI Studio websites, turn off everything except AI Studio.
- Click Export. The extension gives you a ZIP file. A large account takes longer to export. The ZIP file holds many folders, which is expected. It must be made by our extension, because GoHighLevel does not let you export everything itself.
- In Votel go to Settings, then Integrations, then Other integrations, click Add, search for GoHighLevel and choose Import from GoHighLevel.
- Click I have my ZIP, continue, and drop the ZIP file in (or select it to upload it). If a list of items with checkboxes appears, check what you want to import.
- The import starts. Depending on how much the account holds, it takes about 15 minutes to an hour. Rebuilding workflows takes the longest.
- Review everything after the import, especially the workflows.
If the extension will not install: to drag and drop the extension onto Chrome you first need to switch on Developer mode, the toggle at the top right of Chrome's extensions page. You can also click Load unpacked on that page, which opens a file picker so you can select the extension folder.
Run the export before your GoHighLevel subscription ends. Once you are locked out of GoHighLevel you cannot get your data. You can export and import on the same day, so you do not need to keep GoHighLevel running for long. You can also run Votel on a different subdomain alongside your GoHighLevel agency and compare the two before you switch.
If you only need one website, funnel or page, you do not need the migration tool: use Import from URL in the website builder, or ask the AI assistant to import it. The migration tool is for GoHighLevel only. For sites from other platforms, use Import from URL.
Importing and copying is not AI building, so it uses no AI credits. If you see a charge for the AI rebuilding your imported workflows, contact support and we credit it back to your balance.
Our advice: do not change too much at first. Keep the same agents and the same setup, move your data over, and decide later whether to replace other tools. Our team moves people from GoHighLevel every day and can help with the export, the import and testing that everything works. Click Live Support and choose Talk to a person.
