How do I port (transfer) my existing phone numbers into Votel?

You can bring numbers from GoHighLevel, Twilio, RingCentral or any other provider, including toll free and 800 numbers. There is no cost to port numbers in.

  1. Go to Settings, then Phone.
  2. Click Transfer numbers and start a transfer.
  3. Fill out the form with your name, company (or personal) information, address and the numbers you want to port.
  4. The form asks for an invoice or phone bill from your current provider. If your provider does not give you one with the phone number on it (GoHighLevel does not), take a screenshot of the phone numbers in your account there and upload that instead. It proves you own the numbers and is sufficient.
  5. Submit the port request.

Submitting takes seconds. You do not need to do anything in your old system, because the new provider (Votel) starts the port. The carrier then gives you a firm order commitment (FOC) date, usually two or three business days later, with a specific time when the number switches over (for example 6 AM on that date), so you can plan the cutover.

If you already send text messages from the numbers, register for 10DLC (A2P) in Votel and wait for approval before you port, so texting has no downtime. Approvals do not move with the number.
