How do I publish my website on my own domain?
While you build, every website project gets a temporary preview address that Votel creates for you, a long CDN address. You can use it to view and share the site before your domain is connected. To publish on your own domain:
- Go to Websites and open the website project. This opens the website builder.
- Click the Domains tab.
- Click Add domain and type your domain, for example yourbusiness.com.
- Choose whether to use it with or without www.
- Follow the DNS instructions Votel shows you to point the domain at your Votel site instead of your old host (for example GoHighLevel).
Domains are not sold in Votel. Buy your domain from a registrar such as Namecheap or GoDaddy, then connect it. The domain can be a root domain or a subdomain, and you can add as many domains as you want. Web apps can also be published to your own domain, with as many subdomains as you want.
For agencies, your business domain is usually used in two places. A subdomain (for example app.yourdomain.com) is the back end where you and your clients log in. The root domain (the name with nothing in front of it, like yourdomain.com) is where you publish the website the AI created. That gives you a front end website and a back end product. If you work in several niches, use a separate domain for each niche website.
