How do I put my AI agent on my website as a chat or voice widget?

Every AI agent can run on your website through a website widget, so visitors can type or talk to the same agent that answers your phone.

The widget has several modes. Chat and voice, the most popular, lets visitors type or click the audio button to talk, and the agent can reply in text or voice. Orb mode is a voice-only animated orb that changes color depending on who is speaking, and there is also an orb with transcript option. There is also a button only mode.

You can customize the colors, avatar, light or dark mode and where the widget sits on the page. Each widget belongs to one agent, so it answers for that agent and that business. You can create several widgets, for example one for each company.

To add the widget:

1. Open your agent and click Website widgets in the left side menu.
2. Click Create first widget (or create another widget) and pick the mode, colors and position.
3. Open the Embed tab and copy the embed code.
4. If the website was built in Votel, paste the code to the AI assistant and say "add this to my website". To do it yourself, open the site in the website builder, open the page settings on the Pages tab and paste the code into the custom code section.
5. If the website is hosted somewhere else, such as WordPress or GoDaddy, the code must be added to that site's HTML. You need the site's login, or give the embed code to the site owner to add.
6. Visit the website and talk to the widget to make sure it works.

Build the website first and then the agent. When you create the agent, choose Start from a website and paste the site link. In about twenty seconds it reads the site and builds an agent with the business's facts and FAQs.

To have the same agent answer your phone, get a number under Settings, then Phone, and turn that number on for the agent with its switch. You can also put the number on your website.

Voice conversations in the widget are charged per minute. Typed chat is not charged per minute.
