How do I remove the signs of AI writing, like em dashes, from my website and posts?

Use the humanizer skill. It is a skill built into the AI assistant, free for everyone, and it removes the signs of AI generated writing, such as em dashes and stock phrases. You can see it in the AI assistant under Assistant settings, on the Skills tab, where it is called humanizer.

You do not need to do anything special. Tell the AI assistant something like "use the humanizer skill and rewrite this", "use the humanizer skill and make me an article about X" or "use the humanizer skill to review and edit my website". It works on new content and on existing website content. The assistant often uses it on its own when it builds a website, but it is best to ask for it whenever the AI writes for you.

Why it matters: the em dash is the most obvious sign of AI writing. There is no em dash key on a normal keyboard, so people rarely type one, and many readers discount a page or post as soon as they see one. Some platforms, Reddit in particular, strongly dislike AI generated content, and a single em dash can get a post called out. In ads, people notice em dashes and you can get negative comments. Removing the obvious signs of AI writing gets you more positive reactions. At minimum, tell the AI not to use em dashes. You should still make sure the content itself is good.

Use it on anything you write with AI: website copy, emails, social media posts, posts in groups and communities, and ad headlines, body text and descriptions.

If a page only has a few em dashes, it is often faster to open the website builder and delete them by hand.

Reddit and LinkedIn are good places to publish content if you want to be cited in AI search results. Our AI SEO guide covers this in detail.
