How do I send leads into Votel from another tool, or send contacts out to a tool like n8n or Zoho?

If you are using AI to do it, connect the AI through our MCP server. For a regular automation tool such as n8n, use a workflow.

To get data in:

1. Create a workflow that starts with the Webhook trigger. It gives you a unique URL.
2. Send any payload to that URL from the other tool. Votel captures it.
3. Add the Contact lookup step, which finds a matching contact or creates one if there is no match, and map the incoming fields to contact fields such as first name.
4. Process the data with the rest of the workflow.

To get data out, use the API step in a workflow. It can send anything to any endpoint, for example a webhook in n8n, a cold email tool or another CRM. There is a button to paste the whole object, so you can send the contact's full basic info or the contact's activity without building it field by field.

The best way to keep another CRM in sync is event based: when something happens in Votel, such as a new lead or contact being created or a contact being updated, a workflow posts a copy to the other system in the format it expects. Give the AI assistant the other system's API documentation (for example Zoho's) and tell it to post every new lead or contact there, and it sets up the API step for you.
