How do I set a sub-account's wallet balance without adding a credit card?
As the agency admin you can set a sub-account's balance directly, without entering a card. Adding your own card would only charge your own Stripe account and pay yourself.
- Go to Settings, then Sub-accounts.
- Click the sub-account.
- Open the Billing tab on the right side.
- Expand Balance and click the pencil icon to edit the balance.
You can also reach the Billing tab from the sub-account's contact record. When you log in as that sub-account and go to Settings, then Billing, you see the balance you set.
This balance is your own money to allocate. It is like play money until a customer pays you, so you can set it to any amount. If a customer adds funds to their own wallet instead, they are asked for a credit card, and that payment goes to your connected Stripe account. That is how a customer pays you.
When the sub-account uses a service, such as sending a text, the cost is deducted from the balance you set for them and from your own wallet with us at the same time. If you charge your client more than we charge you, the difference is your margin. You manage one balance per customer plus your own card on file with us. The wallet balance does not expire.
