How do I set up my own affiliate program to pay people commissions for referring my business?
Every Votel account has a complete affiliate system under Click Tracking, then Affiliates. You can use it for your own business, your white label business or your clients' businesses, and sub-accounts can run their own affiliate program too. It has two parts: affiliates, and campaigns.
- Go to Click Tracking and open Affiliates.
- Create a campaign. A campaign is your offer and its tracking link, for example a lawyer referral program or web development. The only thing you need is a name, and you get a link. Enter the URL where people should land when they click, such as your website or a landing page. You can use your own custom domain for the link, and the ending part of the link is called the slug. Choose whether the campaign is available to all affiliates or only to selected affiliates.
- Create your affiliate registration page, where people apply to become an affiliate. You can hand it out as a URL or embed it on your website, choose what information it collects, add custom questions, paste in your terms and conditions, and customize the emails that go out automatically when people apply.
- Approve affiliates as they sign up, or create an affiliate yourself. Open an affiliate to approve or edit them and to see their campaigns and payouts.
- Edit the affiliate to set their commission. A commission can be a percentage or a fixed dollar amount, and it can be one time or recurring. Upline and downline commissions are available as optional settings.
- Each affiliate gets their own link on every campaign they have access to, carrying their affiliate ID. For example, a campaign link looks like /c/campaign-name followed by the affiliate's name. The affiliate shares that link, for example on their own website.
When someone clicks an affiliate's link, the click is tracked, and when they sign up the affiliate gets the credit. You see click logs and conversion logs, you can track different traffic sources with custom parameter mapping, and you can redirect people to different URLs and split test traffic.
Affiliates get their own portal where they see the commissions they have earned and their payout activity. With white label, the portal runs under your own domain.
Payouts: when an affiliate is owed money, the payout shows in the system and you pay it with one click. Connect Stripe Payouts in your integrations to send payouts automatically.
