How do I set up my white label with my own brand and domain?

White label is set up in Settings, SaaS Configurator (SaaS means software as a service). To get your white label online you only need the first three tabs: Branding, Custom Domain and SaaS Plan. The other tabs are optional customization.

  1. Go to Settings and click SaaS Configurator. If you do not see Settings, the floating AI assistant icon may be sitting on top of it.
  2. On the Branding tab, enter your company name, your support email address, a phone number, your website and your logo. Use support@yourdomain.com on your root domain, not a subdomain. The phone number is shown across the platform as your support number. You can type a placeholder or your own number for now and buy one later in the Phone section; a toll free number is recommended. Enter your website even if it is not online yet. If you do not have a logo, ask the Votel AI assistant or ChatGPT to make one. Click Save at the bottom.
  3. Verify your email domain: click Verify email domain, then Add domain, and add the DNS records it shows. You can close the pop up and come back to it later.
  4. On the Custom Domain tab, click Add domain and enter a subdomain of a domain you own, for example app.yourdomain.com (or login.yourdomain.com if you already use app elsewhere). This is the back end address where you and your clients log in, the same way we use app.votel.ai. You must use a subdomain, so your root domain stays free for your public website or landing page.
  5. Set the switches: Send email from this domain (on by default, leave it on), Receive email (off by default, read the email options answer before turning it on) and Help center (on by default, leave it on).
  6. Copy the DNS records shown into the DNS settings wherever your domain was bought or is hosted, for example GoDaddy, Namecheap or Cloudflare. Click the small yellow labels one at a time (website, email, help docs) and copy each record. To see the instructions again, click the yellow pill icon.
  7. On the SaaS Plan tab, create at least one SaaS plan. You need a plan before you can create a sub-account.

Once the DNS records are connected, your white label is online. You log in on your own domain instead of the Votel address, and your logo, company name and phone number replace Votel's everywhere in the platform, including the emails your clients receive and the help center. You can change your branding and domain later.

You get one white label domain, so use your main brand or a generic back end name such as a client portal name. You can use any extension, including .ai. If you do not have a domain, buy one from a registrar such as GoDaddy or Namecheap (usually around $8 to $12, more for a .ai). Your brand does not have to be a company you have registered elsewhere, and your niche may shape your brand and domain name.

If pointing a domain is new to you, click the Live Support button at the bottom left of the app. Our support and onboarding team has connected thousands of domains and can walk you through it by screen share, and can also help you create your first SaaS plan.
