How do I share my screen or let support take control of my screen during a live support call?
In the support call window, the screen share button sits next to the microphone and video buttons, to the left of the hang-up button.
- Click the screen share button.
- Choose what to share and click Share or Allow. Choose Entire Screen if the support person needs to see other tabs, apps, accounts or sub-accounts. They can only see the one tab or window you approved, so if you switch to a different tab they see nothing there.
- When the support person clicks Take control, a pop up asks whether to allow them to control your screen. Approve it. They can only control what you shared, and only within the platform window.
If you want to show another account or sub-account, share your entire screen first so the call is not dropped when you switch.
On a Mac, the first time you share, your computer may ask for permission. If sharing does nothing, turn on screen recording for Chrome in System Settings (Screen and System Audio Recording), restart Chrome and rejoin the call.
If you minimized the call, click the small green video pill at the top right to bring it back. Use the small down arrow on the call window to collapse it while you work on other pages of the app.
If the support person cannot hear you, click the unmute button at the bottom left of the call or allow the browser's microphone permission. If audio still does not work, the support person can phone you instead.
