How many calls can run at the same time, and what do extra concurrent calls cost?
Concurrent calls are the number of calls running at the same moment, inbound or outbound. Your AI agents can answer and make several calls at once. Five concurrent calls (five lines) are included in every account. The limit applies at the agency level, so sub-account usage counts toward the agency.
Above five, each extra concurrent call costs $7 for that month. There is no upper limit, and calls do not stop at the number you set in a sub-account plan. You are billed on your actual peak use in the month, not on the limit you sell a client. For example, if a sub-account plan allows 20 but usage never goes above 5, there is no extra cost. If usage peaks 2 above the included amount in a month, the extra is $14 for that month. If you use an extra line one month and not the next, the next month costs nothing extra. Check the pricing page for the current figure.
Most people never need more than five. You only need more lines if you need more calls running at the same moment, not just more calls per day. As a guide, with an average call of two minutes one line handles about 30 calls an hour, so five lines handle about 150 calls an hour if everyone answers. At a 10% answer rate that supports roughly 1,500 dial attempts an hour, so only large outbound calling campaigns need more. Shorter calls mean more calls per line per hour.
