How should I use social media to get clients for my business or agency?
Votel recommends treating organic social media as free traffic. A Facebook ad can cost around $100 to $150 per thousand views (CPM), so every thousand views you earn without paying is roughly that much traffic you did not buy. You do not need friends or followers to start: platforms show content to people interested in the topic, so even a new account can reach the right people.
How to approach it:
- Create and connect every social account you can (Calendar, then Social Media, then Manage accounts).
- Post at least once a day, or pick a rhythm (daily, every other day, several times a day) and keep it. Consistency is the key, because the algorithm favors it and results compound over time, so do not stop after a week or two. The AI assistant can be set up to create and post content daily.
- Post what your ideal client wants to see: tips, industry knowledge, how you help certain industries, a free guide. Deliver value rather than only saying click my link or buy my service. Generic posts such as we are the best or we launched get little engagement on their own.
- Good first posts: announce that you launched and are accepting clients, name the industry you serve, the type of clients you work with, their pain points, and the solutions and value you provide. That alone stretches to at least fourteen days of content.
- Always include a link to your website, and give visitors something easy, low cost and low risk to do, such as a contact form, a free audit or a free lead magnet, rather than asking for a high monthly price straight away.
- Use the same branding on every account as on your landing page, so people who click through land on the same brand.
- When posting in groups and communities, add value and help people rather than spamming your link.
A history of posts also makes a new business look established when prospects look you up. Social posts complement the Visitor ID pixel: when someone clicks through to your site, Votel can identify who they are so you can reach out.
Connecting your social accounts and posting is part of the 5 Day Challenge homework.
