My new domain shows Not secure or a DNS error. What should I do?
Open your site in Websites and click the Domains tab. It shows whether the domain is secure or has an error.
Most often it simply has not been long enough since you changed your DNS. A new domain also has to wait for its SSL certificate to be issued, which is normal and resolves on its own once the certificate is issued. How fast DNS updates depends on your provider: Cloudflare can take a minute or two, Namecheap is in the middle, and GoDaddy can take up to about 24 hours.
If the status has not changed after that, check the domain settings in the Domains tab for an error, such as the DNS not matching. A common cause is old DNS records left in place at your provider, so the domain is not set up 100 percent correctly.
Every site should be served over HTTPS by default. Typing the http address should take you straight to the secure https address, and the root domain and the www address redirect to whichever one is your main address, so there is no duplicate page. If that does not happen, something is wrong with the setup.
