What do the Medium, Faster and Smarter modes in the AI assistant do?

Near the message box in the AI assistant you can choose a mode: Medium (the default), Faster or Smarter. The mode controls how long and how hard the AI works on a problem, which AI model is used and how many credits it spends. Smarter costs more credits and Faster costs fewer. The mode also affects the quality of the output, so try them to see the difference.

We recommend keeping Medium for most work. Use Smarter when you have something hard that the AI could not solve, or when it created a bug.

Do not go below Medium for creative work, such as designing websites, marketing copy, marketing emails, social posts, videos and video scripts, because the lighter models are less creative. Faster is fine for basic tasks and for logical work such as building an automation or connecting an API, which does not need much creativity, so the mode makes little difference there.
