What is a snapshot, and how do I create one and push updates to my sub-accounts?
A snapshot is a template: a collection of items bundled together so you can build something once and sell it over and over. It is not the same as a workflow. A snapshot can hold AI agents (workflows live inside agents, so including an agent includes its automations), workflows, pipelines, custom fields, forms, funnels, websites and landing pages, calendars, global variables, skills and other items. For example, if you serve HVAC companies you can bundle a 24/7 AI receptionist, a database reactivation agent and workflow, a pipeline, custom fields and a website into one snapshot, and give it to each new HVAC client so they have everything ready to go.
To create a snapshot:
- Build the items in your own agency account. Items can be passed down from the agency account to sub-accounts, but not up from a sub-account and not from one sub-account to another.
- Go to Library, then Snapshots, and click Create.
- Check the items you want to include. You can add as many items as you want.
- Give the snapshot a name and save it.
- Apply it to the sub-accounts you choose, or attach it to a SaaS plan or add-on so it is installed automatically when a client buys.
Snapshots are version controlled, and every change is tracked. When you change a snapshot, sub-accounts are not updated automatically. Open the snapshot and use apply to sub-accounts (push updates): it shows which version each sub-account is on, and you can select the accounts you want, or everybody, and push. Always make changes in your agency account, not in client accounts, and push them down, so you edit the template once instead of editing ten or a hundred accounts and never copy and paste between accounts.
Creating your own snapshots and passing them down to your sub-accounts is free. Snapshots do not use the paid services that draw down a balance.
We recommend one snapshot per problem you solve rather than one snapshot for a whole niche, for example speed to lead, a 24/7 after-hours answering service, database reactivation and review requests after a service as separate snapshots. Think of them as puzzle pieces: you can combine several for one customer, give clients only the pieces they need, and if a prospect already has an answering service you still have other solutions ready to sell.
