What is a web app in Votel, when do I need one, and what does it cost?
A web app is different from a website or funnel. Use one only when you need something Votel does not already have that requires its own custom database and custom code running on a server, for example a business directory with categories, listings, ratings and an admin back end, or a voting app. Websites, landing pages, funnels, forms, sign up pages and lead capture forms use built-in Votel features and do not need an app.
A web app costs $9 a month per app, flat. That includes hosting the app, its database and the back end server for the custom code. Traffic, database use and storage are unlimited: there is no bandwidth charge, no charge per API call and no limit by database size. The price is per app, so each app you create is $9 a month. Building the app with the AI assistant also uses AI credits.
The charge starts as soon as the web app is created, meaning when you click plus to create a new web app and start chatting, not when it is published.
If the AI assistant asks whether to build an app or a website for something like a landing page that captures leads, choose the website or landing page unless you really need a back end.
To see your apps, open Websites, Funnels and Web apps, or go to Settings, Billing and scroll to AI apps. To stop the charge for an app you do not want (for example one created by mistake), open the AI assistant, click the three dots on the app and delete it.
