Applies to: Agencies with sub-accounts

Who pays for a sub-account's usage, and how do I set or fund its balance?

Each sub-account has its own wallet with you, just as you have a wallet with us. A client's usage comes out of their sub-account balance, not yours, at the prices you set in their plan, so you make margin whenever they use services. Sub-account balances roll up to your account.

The money in your own account and the balance shown on a sub-account are separate. You decide what balance each sub-account has, because that balance sits with you, not with us. To set it, edit the sub-account's balance from your agency account, or open the sub-account's Billing tab and add funds to its wallet. You can group the balance history by service to see what a sub-account has used.

For a sub-account you use yourself (a demo, or your own business), tick the checkbox for creating it for yourself when you create the sub-account. It disables billing for that sub-account, so the cost rolls up to you and you do not have to manage its balance. For a sub-account created without that option, add funds to its wallet yourself. You are not paying yourself, so you can enter any amount you like.

To avoid being left with a bill a client cannot pay, set up your sub-accounts so they cannot go negative: they must prefund their balance before using SMS, AI and other paid services. You set this in the packages and pricing for your sub-accounts.
