Why can't I add funds to a sub-account wallet, and what does "No default payment integration configured for tenant" mean?

When a sub-account adds money to its wallet or adds a card, the payment goes through your own Stripe account. Until you connect Stripe, a sub-account cannot add funds: the Add funds button does not work, adding a card shows the error No default payment integration configured for tenant, and without a card or funds the sub-account cannot create an agent.

To connect Stripe:

  1. Go to Settings, then Integrations, then the Other integrations tab.
  2. Click Add integration and search for Stripe.
  3. In your Stripe dashboard, click Developers at the bottom left, then API keys.
  4. Copy the secret key and the publishable key into the two fields in Votel and save.

After that, when a client adds a card in their sub-account, your Stripe connection collects the card and bills them, and when a sub-account adds for example $10 to its wallet, the $10 goes to your Stripe account.

If the sub-account is your own (your own business, brand, location or test account), do not add a card to it, because you would be paying yourself through your own Stripe. Set its balance instead:

  1. Go to Contacts and search for the sub-account (a small person icon marks it as a sub-account).
  2. Open it and click the Billing tab.
  3. Edit the wallet balance, for example to a larger test amount, and save.

The Billing tab also shows the sub-account's plan, the cards on file, what it purchased and reporting.

Your own agency account is separate: when you add your card there, it uses our payment integration.
