Built-In Web Phone
Make and receive calls directly from your browser without any external phone or softphone application. The web phone is built into Votel and works with any number on your account.
Making Calls
To place an outbound call, open the web phone and dial the number or select a contact. Before calling, choose which of your purchased numbers to display as the outbound caller ID. The recipient sees your selected number, not a generic or unknown caller.
Receiving Calls
When a phone number's call destination is set to Web Phone, incoming calls ring directly in your browser. Make sure browser notifications and microphone access are enabled so you do not miss calls.
Web Phone Settings
Configure default behaviors for the web phone:
- Default Caller ID — Set which number is used by default for outbound calls.
- Ringtone — Choose from available ringtones or upload a custom sound.
- Notification Settings — Control how call alerts appear in your browser.
Voicemail
Voicemail Greeting
Record a custom voicemail greeting or have the AI generate one for you. The greeting plays when a call goes unanswered or when you are unavailable.
Voicemail Drop (Power Dialer)
Pre-record voicemail messages that can be dropped automatically when the power dialer reaches a recipient's voicemail. This saves time during high-volume outbound calling by skipping the manual recording step.
